Mark Burch Motorsports Partners with the Team Jack Foundation
Inside Line Promotions – LINCOLN, Neb. (March 25, 2016) – Mark Burch Motorsports is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Team Jack Foundation for the 2016 season.
“We are extremely happy to support the Team Jack Foundation and its mission,” Mark Burch said. “The Team Jack Foundation is something that is special to me. We want to do all we can within the grass roots level of dirt racing where we are known to promote the awareness of pediatric cancer and hopefully help raise additional funds for research to cure the disease.”
In addition to flying the foundation logo on the sprint car, Mark Burch Motorsports will sell unique t-shirts with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Foundation, which was established to raise money to fund impactful pediatric brain cancer research and to create national awareness for the disease.
The Team Jack Foundation got its start when Jack Hoffman, who is a 10-year-old from Atkinson, Neb., was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011. Hoffman battled life-threatening surgeries and debilitating seizures as doctors scrambled to save his life.
During that time his family reached out to the University of Nebraska in hopes that Hoffman could meet Rex Burkhead, who was the star running back for the football team. They met in September 2011 and a friendship was born, which was also featured on ESPN. Burkhead’s support earned him the Rare Disease Champion Award presented by Uplifting Athletes.
As of January 2014, the Team Jack movement has raised $2.5 million and counting for pediatric brain cancer research. The Team Jack Foundation is working with world renowned researchers, directly, to develop relevant and impactful research initiatives.
Although Mark Burch Motorsports will not kick off its season until sometime next month, its driver Danny Lasoski will be utilizing a Mark Burch Motorsports engine this weekend in his own sprint car at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan., during the GoMuddy.com National Sprint League 360 Sprint Car Series debut at the Park City Cup/Air Capital Shootout.
